The 32-channel POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) telephone line passes through a fiber converter/extender. This fiber optic voice converter uses RJ-11C modular connectors for each copper wire pair connection. The FXO type unit is connected to a telephone line (PSTN) or PBX station line, and can detect the ringing voltage and act as a telephone. The FXS type unit is a reciprocal unit with the ability to act as a PSTN and connect to telephone equipment.
